The bride goes before a fall.

Richard Flanagan is still reeling from the death of his long-term lover when he receives an invitation to his estranged daughter’s wedding. He doesn’t want to go as it reminds him too much of what he now misses in his relationships which consist of momentarily satisfying one-night stands. He wants the sort of connection that he has experienced only once since his lover died but the young man left behind only a false name and lingering memories. Rich hopes that, when he gets back to his old home town, maybe he can reignite a passion with one of his old college jock mates if they’re still amenable. But even in his wildest dreams he couldn’t anticipate the upheaval that lies ahead.
